Description

We are so very excited to welcome Scars on 45 back to CT on Friday, June 26th, for a private, acoustic show in support of their second full-length album, Safety in Numbers. This event, like our previous events, promises to be a unique evening where the band will play a selection of songs, new and old, to a select group of friends, fans, and family. We are excited to have Benny Bassett joining us to open then show. Those who have been on The Rock Boat may be familiar with his band Vintage Blue and we are lucky to have Benny open the show with a solo acoustic performance.

This is a powerful way to support great artists and have an opportunity to attend a unique event as part of your support. All money collected from the sale of tickets, aside from the costs associated with putting on an event of this nature, go directly to the artists. As with our previous shows, our goal is not to make money; rather, it is to have a great evening of music while supporting artists we admire and respect.

As of now, the tentative schedule is:

6:30 PM: Doors open, and we welcome you to join us for music and conversation; BYO food and beverage

7:30 PM: Benny Bassett

8:30 PM: Scars on 45 will play a full acoustic set.

PLEASE NOTE:

Attendance for the event is limited. Tickets are non-refundable.

We look forward to seeing you on June 26th!

Please feel free to email with any questions.

Scars on 45:

British alt-rock ensemble Scars on 45 make yearning, melodic pop that combines the big guitar rock of Oasis with the melodic, country-influenced sound of Fleetwood Mac. Formed in Bradford, Yorkshire around 2007, Scars on 45 began as a duo after former football-mates, singer/songwriter Danny Bemrose and bassist Stuart Nichols, started writing songs together. Eventually the band expanded to include keyboardist David Nowakowski, vocalist Aimee Driver, and drummer Chris Durling. While the group developed a local following, it wasn't until their song "Beauty's Running Wild" was used in a 2009 episode of the CBS television drama CSI:New York that Scars on 45 caught the attention of the wider music industry. In 2011, buoyed by that success and a record deal with the Chop Shop label, Scars on 45 released two EPs, including Give Me Something and Heart on Fire, the latter's title cut appeared on the Grey’s Anatomy, Vol. 4 soundtrack. A year later, the band released their self-titled debut album featuring the single "Heart on Fire." In 2014, Scars on 45 returned with their sophomore full-length album, Safety in Numbers, featuring the single, "Crazy for You." ~ Matt Collar, Rov Bio from: http://www.mtv.com/artists/scars-on-45/biography/

"Safety In Numbers" represents pure honesty and hard work, and the culmination of a strange journey the musicians never realized they'd be going on. In the end, though, the band is grateful for strife and tumultuous process involved in arriving at this point because it has allowed them to become who they are.

"We needed to slog our guts out for four years and not really achieve our potential," Danny says. "But then after all that we needed something to inspire us to get back in the van and do it again. Making this album and signing with Nettwerk did that. We might not be the biggest band in the world yet and we've got so much more to achieve, but we know now that people care about our band. We owe it those people to give this everything we've got."
